WASTEWATER RESERVOIRS

Stabilization ponds are places where domestic and industrial wastewater is collected. Here, the water will be subjected to pre-treatment, thus lightening the load on the treatment plant.

Treated wastewater often contains high levels of nutrients that can lead to the proliferation of phytoplankton on the water surface of storage ponds. Excess algae can increase pH, BOD and TSS levels, making water reuse or discharge difficult.
